Plantar Fasciitis symptoms
Pain that prevents you from moving can disrupt your normal daily routine. You should seek medical attention if you experience pain under your foot. Inflammation of the plantar faciitis ligament that runs from your heel to your toes can cause sharp stabbing pains in your heels. You may be able to ease your symptoms using a non-surgical solution, depending on the severity and cause of the inflammation in the plantar fascia. In severe cases, patients may consider surgery.
Plantar fasciitis causes pain on the bottom of the foot. The plantar fascia, a thick, web-like set of ligaments, connects the heel of your foot to your toes. It helps you walk, supports your arch, and also acts as a cushion. Plantar fasciitis, or heel to toe syndrome, is a common orthopedic complaint. Plantar fascia ligaments are subjected to a great deal of wear and tears throughout life. Over-pressure on the feet can cause damage or tears to your foot ligaments. Inflammation of the plantar fascia can cause heel pain and stiffness.
Plantar fasciitis’s cause is not yet known. A 2003 study suggests that the condition could be caused by degeneration of the foot ligaments, i.e. the plantar fascia, rather than inflammation. Fasciitis, which means swelling of a facia, clearly indicates that the ligaments are inflamed. Plantar fasciitis is characterized by inflammation at the bottom heel. Plantar fasciitis causes stabbing pain at the heel area or the bottom of the foot. It usually only affects one foot, but it can sometimes affect both.
Pain in the soles of the feet
Plantar fasciitis causes painful heels that get worse over time. The pain at the bottoms of the feet may be sharp or dull, depending on how severe the inflammation or tears are to your ligaments. Some people feel a burning or aching sensation that spreads through the heel. It is usually worse in the morning, when you are trying to take your first step, after you have sat or lied down for an extended period. As a result, it can be difficult to climb stairs due to painful heels.
