Older adults
Plantar fasciitis can also be seen in older adults. The problem is often biomechanical in older people. It’s usually related to poor muscle strength, and the reduced healing ability of the body. There is also a poor force attenuation among older people, which is secondary flat feet. Generally, patients will have a maximum tenderness in the anterior region of the calcaneus. Plantar fasciitis can cause stabbing pain that is aggravated by passive dorsiflexion or standing on the tips of the toes.
