Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy is the use of the patient’s immune system to combat the growth of cancer cells in the body. Typically, cancer cells from tumors inhibit the immune system’s ability to combat disease by producing specific proteins. Immunotherapy prevents the immune system from becoming blinded by particular proteins. Immunotherapy is a treatment option for mesothelioma patients for whom other treatments have failed.
