Pneumonia and respiratory infections

Patients with pleural mesothelioma are more likely to develop pneumonia and other respiratory infections. Surgical patients are more likely to develop respiratory infections, with approximately 2% of pleural patients suffering from pneumonia. Antivirals and antibiotics are recommended by physicians for treating respiratory infections and pneumonia.
