Respiratory distress and failure
Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is another respiratory complication that occurs when the small air sacs of the lungs become filled with excess fluid. This complication may occur following certain interventions, such as talc pleurodesis or surgery. The physicians advise patients with ARDS to use mechanical ventilation.
