Collapsed lung

Pneumothorax, or collapsed lung, is a relatively uncommon complication of the respiratory system in mesothelioma patients. When air enters the pleural spaces between the chest wall and the lungs, lung collapse commences. According to reports, spontaneous pneumothorax affects less than 10% of mesothelioma patients. For the release of air confined between the lungs and the chest wall, surgical procedures and physical therapies are available.
