Sarcomatoid cell mesothelioma
Sarcomatoid mesothelioma is the rarest of the different types of mesothelioma cells. The treatment plan for sarcomatoid tumor cells is the most difficult and aggressive treatment options are required. Approximately 10 to 20 percent of all mesothelioma patients contain sarcomatoid tumor cells. Spindle or sarcomatous malignant fibrous mesothelioma are alternative names for sarcomatoid mesothelioma. Approximately 20% of pleural mesothelioma patients have sarcomatoid tumor cells, compared to less than 1% of peritoneal mesothelioma patients.
