Testicular mesothelioma (testes)
Testicular mesothelioma spreads within the sac membrane of the testicles. This form of mesothelioma is the rarest, and there are reports of fewer than 100 cases of testicular mesothelioma in the current medical literature. The treatment options for this type of mesothelioma include chemotherapy and surgery, which may extend survival beyond two years following the initial cancer diagnosis. Tumor cells form in the tunica vaginalis, which is the lining that encompasses the testicles. Common symptoms of testicular mesothelioma include asymptomatic testicular nodules and scrotal enlargement. The average life expectancy after appropriate treatment is two years.
