Heart palpitations
In the early phases of a pericardial type of mesothelioma, irregular heart contractions may occur. The cancer cells have a negative effect on the delicate lining that covers the heart muscle and irritate the pericardium membrane of the heart, resulting in an irregular heartbeat. The patient begins to experience chest pain or cardiac palpitations.
