Sweating or clamminess
The activation of the body’s fight-or-flight response is precipitated by a decrease in blood glucose levels. The activation of the body’s stress response due to hypoglycemia produces additional adrenaline and norepinephrine, which may cause excessive sweating and trembling of the extremities. Perspiration is one of the classic symptoms of hypoglycemia, which can cause coma or even death if the blood sugar levels continue to decline. In response to low blood sugar levels, the epidermis becomes clammy and chilly. Moderate hypoglycemia makes the affected individual apprehensive, perspiring, and cold at the same time.
