Overview, Symptoms, Causes, Types, Diet, Treatment, and Management of Low Blood Glucose (Hypoglycemia)

Seizures

Extremely low blood glucose levels may result in brain injury and, consequently, seizures. Insulin shock in reactive hypoglycemia may cause unconsciousness, and even a single episode of low blood sugar can disrupt sodium ion and potassium ion transport in the brain, resulting in seizures. Increasing insulin levels induce an increase in the osmolality of sodium and potassium ions, resulting in diverse signal transduction in nerve impulses.
