Bronchodilators
By constricting airway passages, bronchodilators increase the amount of oxygen that can enter the lungs. They are administered via MDI, which consists of an aerosolized canister and a spacer-like orifice.
Inhaling bronchodilators for 15 to 30 minutes prior to initiating airway clearance. In addition to increasing the quantity of mucus expelled through coughing, expectorants also facilitate deeper inhalation of other medications.
