Other complications
With so many other complications resulting from these diseases, the individual becomes frail and emaciated. The functions of this organism begin to malfunction. Other than digestive and respiratory complications, the disease is associated with a few other complications.
People with cystic fibrosis are susceptible to osteoporosis and have an increased risk of developing frail bones. Osteopenia is a disease characterised by low mineral content and brittleness in the bones, which can contribute to osteoporosis. The bones become brittle and weakened. The individual experiences joint and muscle agony, as well as arthritis. There is no age limit for osteopenia and osteoporosis; however, it has been observed in adults with cystic fibrosis.
