Overview, Symptoms, Causes, Treatment, Complications, Prevention, and Management of Cystic Fibrosis

Distal Intestinal obstruction syndrome (DIOS)

When the bowl becomes partially or completely obstructed, intestinal obstruction is a common complication of cystic fibrosis. In this condition, the intestine segments can travel within the intestine like a telescope that collapses. It is possible for the intestines to become so obstructed that an immobile mass can be felt in the right area of the abdomen. The individual experiences cramps, abdominal discomfort, and bloating. The stools can be difficult.
