Diabetes
Diabetes is a severe symptom of this disease. People with cystic fibrosis have dense, viscous mucus that causes pancreatic scarring. Scarring of the pancreas prevents normal insulin secretion, resulting in diabetes caused by insufficient insulin in the body.
