Cranberry juice and supplements
Cranberry is the most popular and well-known home remedy for UTI. There is abundant evidence that this fruit can reduce infection risk and alleviate symptoms. Cranberries contain proanthocyanidins (PACs) and antioxidants, which appear to help fend off bacteria and prevent them from adhering to the mucous lining of the urinary tract, giving them their magical properties.
Recent guidelines recommend cranberry juice, capsules, and tablets as a preventative measure against UTI in light of growing concerns about antibiotic resistance.
