Pyelonephritis
Acute pyelonephritis is an infection that affects the kidneys. It is frequently sudden and can cause severe kidney injury. Inflammation of the kidneys caused by a bacterial infection is accompanied by severe flank discomfort.
Chronic pyelonephritis is a condition characterised by repeated or persistent bacterial attacks. Although uncommon, it occurs more frequently in pregnant women, infants, and those with urinary obstructions.
