Weakened Immune System
A compromised immune system can increase the likelihood of developing urinary tract infections. The vagina and urethra contain a natural flora of beneficial bacteria that prevents the entry and growth of dangerous bacteria. Bacteria and other organisms can overgrow and affect the urethra and vagina when the immune system is compromised by factors such as a poor diet, illness, or infection.
