Birth Control
Depending on their body type, different forms of birth control may be necessary for many women. Certain types of contraceptives have been linked to UTIs, according to research. Diaphragms, for example, are coated with spermicides and are predominantly used by women. Many women are known to contract an infection from them.
Spermicide is similar to an antibiotic in that it can alter the vagina’s natural pH and eliminate the protective bacteria flora. Once hazardous bacteria are present in the vagina, they can easily spread to distant organs like the bladder and kidneys. According to studies, condoms and spermicides may also increase the likelihood of Candida infections.
