Greg was aware that the statement made by his neighbor was untrue, but chose to not engage in a debate about it. The constant repairs and financial burden that he was forced to shoulder due to the damage caused were what really mattered. He gave his neighbor the bills for the repairs, and told her another bill was coming due to the dog being in the pool again.
