Brian walked around the house carefully, looking at every corner and crevice in the hope of spotting the previous owners. Or perhaps he would find a clue to their location. The brothers were pressed for time and knew that they could not afford to delay any longer. Toby also followed suit as they both surveyed the interior through the partially curtained window.
It was evident that they hadn’t been away for very long. The furniture looked well maintained and there were personal items scattered about. They could have been out on an evening stroll or an errand. They were gnawed by the uncertainty, but had to persist.
