On His Mind
Mark was haunted, despite his decision to move forward with the project. The metal behemoth lurking just below the surface of the garden was a mystery. Mark was repeatedly drawn to the site during the evening, which was supposed to be a break from his day’s work. With a flashlight in hand, he peered into the excavation area. The beam illuminated the odd contours of the object and prompted more questions than answers.
The mystery was only heightened by each observation: How could something so large be buried in this place? How had it escaped notice up until now? He was restless as he pondered the history of his garden and its secrets.
