How to Prepare for LASIK Surgery

You will meet with an eye doctor or coordinator before LASIK to discuss what you can expect after and during the procedure. You will be asked about any medical history and your eyes will be examined. It could include tests to measure the thickness of your cornea, the pressure in your eyes, or refraction. The surgeon may map your corneas or measure the length of your pupils. You can ask any questions to the surgeon. You can then make an appointment for LASIK.
Stop wearing hard contact lenses at least 3 weeks prior to the exam. Do not wear any contact lenses for at least 3 days prior to the exam. Keep your eyeglasses with you so the surgeon can examine your prescription.
