What Happens During LASIK surgery?
You will be given numbing eye drops by the doctor. You can also ask for a mild sedative. The femtosecond laser or microkeratome is used to create a thin flap in your cornea. Then, they will use another laser to reformate the tissue beneath. They will then place the flap in its original position and complete the surgery. LASIK takes about 20 minutes. After surgery, arrange for someone to drive home.
