Gross motor skills are the significant voluntary movements of infants and children, ensuring the kids’ normal development. The delayed development of gross motor skills in children with SMA is indicative of their slowed growth. Due to faulty genes that inhibit development, neonates with SMA develop the ability to walk and speak much later than other children. It is difficult for infants with SMA to turn over and crawl.
