Assistive types of equipment
The use of certain types of assistive apparatus may be an option for patients with mobility and daily activity difficulties. Under the supervision of a physiotherapist or occupational therapist, patients with severe spinal curvature can also receive assistance from specialized apparatus. For the support of the limbs and legs, some of the assistive equipment includes splints and braces. The use of mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and walking frames, is also an effective remedy for mobility issues. Orthotics are additional forms of walking aids that can be inserted into shoes for support.
