Exercises and stretching
Staying active will be of great assistance to the SMA patient’s muscle weakness. A few minutes of daily stretching and exercise can substantially strengthen the joints and prevent their stiffening as the disease progresses. If you are unable to exercise and stretch your body on your own, you can also consult a physiotherapist for assistance. Although the physical activity levels of children and adults may vary depending on the severity of their symptoms, staying active is the aim for all SMA patients.
