Inhalation of steam
The sinuses, nose, lungs, and larynx can be significantly relieved by inhaling steam from a warm water pot. The use of steam therapy with water vapors loosens mucus congestion in the respiratory tract. Inhaling moist and warm air also reduces the inflammation in the airways and nose caused by influenza. The steam therapy also helps relieve chest constriction, nasal irritation, and dry cough. Using tepid water in a pot, a vaporizer, or boiling water in the microwave oven, you can inhale steam. Be cautious about the water’s temperature before imbibing it. You can always add essential oil droplets to steam therapy to enhance its benefits. Be cautious when inhaling the vapor of boiling water, as you can also burn your face.
