Influenza Symptoms Of All Types
Influenza, also known as the flu, is a contagious infection and a respiratory illness that is caused by various strains of the influenza virus. Several strains of the influenza virus may cause moderate to severe symptoms and, in rare cases, can be life-threatening and ultimately fatal. Influenza infection is frequently confused with the common cold, but the two conditions are distinct. People may experience a single symptom or a combination of symptoms when infected with the influenza virus. It is also essential to realize that a fever is not required for all influenza patients. Some of the symptoms and indications of influenza infection that are shared by all strains are as follows:
a cough
Patients infected with the influenza virus have a cough that is typically dry and causes distress. Approximately one to five days after contracting the influenza virus, the most common symptoms include wheezing and dry coughing. The respiratory system begins to feel dry, and the pharynx becomes itchy. The wheeze produces no mucus, and the virus typically prevents the lubrication of the respiratory tract. The wheeze that causes intense itching typically develops following exposure to the virus.
