Rapid Molecular Assays
Rapid molecular assays are an enhanced molecular diagnostic test with greater specificity and sensitivity for influenza, including specimens from the upper respiratory tract. The rapid molecular assay yields results in less than 15 minutes and uses isothermal nucleic acid amplification. Simultaneously, a second platform from rapid molecular assays employs RT-PCR with increased sensitivity and provides results in less than 20 minutes.
