Chronic constipation

A large accumulation of dry or solid debris in the intestines may lead to constipation. It is one of the most common digestive disorders, affecting nearly 2 million Americans. The two most common causes of constipation are insufficient fibre consumption and inadequate fluid intake. Too little fibre or water makes faeces difficult to pass and harder to transit. Slow-moving, solid waste increases the pressure on the colon, which may be the cause of abdominal discomfort.
