Hormonal factors There are two categories of treatment drugs used in chemotherapy, namely sex hormones and corticosteroid hormones. Corticosteroid hormones treat tumor-related inflammation and are effective against multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and leukemia. In contrast, sex hormones inhibit the growth of prostate, breast, and uterine cancer cells by severing their nutrient supply.
