Nitro-soureas are a class of medications that inhibit and halt the activity of enzymes that aid in DNA repair and cancer cell reproduction. Unique and potentially advantageous about nitro-soureas chemotherapy is that the drug can enter the brain to kill cancer cells, whereas many other chemotherapy medications cannot. Carmustine and lomustine are examples.
