Breast Cancer

Numerous individuals with stages 1, 2, and 3 of breast cancer initially undergo surgery in which the surgeon either removes the breast, i.e., mastectomy, or removes only the tumor, i.e., breast conserving surgery (BCS). Some patients undergo chemotherapy with or without surgery. Recent studies indicate that the success rate of BCS, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy for women with stage 3 breast cancer is 17%. However, the success rate of BCS plus chemotherapy is only 2% across all four phases of breast cancer.
