They felt a wave of relief as the light began to filter through the tunnel. “Don’t stop, we’re nearly there!” Chris shouted at Tommy and Emma as he encouraged them to continue running.
They burst from the tomb into the open, their hearts pounding.
They were relieved to be back outside
They emerged from the tomb trembling and breathless, with their minds racing. Who had locked the doors? What voices did they hear? They were still catching their breathe when they realized that they had survived!
The children were still scared, but they were also relieved to be able to breathe in the sunlight and fresh air.
