Swelling around the anus
Hemorrhoids are a common cause of swelling around the anus. It occurs in nearly all hemorrhoid patients. Hemorrhoids cause swollen vessels in the lower rectum and anus, resulting in severe swelling. Swelling can be external (around the anus) or internal (inflammation in the rectum or anus lining).
