Symptoms of hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are not visible until the tissues swell. The symptoms and signs of hemorrhoids are caused by swelling or the formation of a clot. Outside the anus, external hemorrhoids as well as internal hemorrhoids that extend towards the anus and are known by the name prolapsed hemorrhoids from the rectum can be observed. Internal hemorrhoids, however, cannot be seen from outside the anus. If a dark blue lump is visible at the opening of the anus, this means that a blood clot has formed within the swollen vessel. This is referred to as a thrombosed haemorrhoid. Non-thrombosed haemorrhoids are rubbery in texture. Most often, more than one hemorrhoid may be present. The type of hemorrhoid that a person has will determine the severity of the hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids can cause the following symptoms:
Burning sensation in the area of the anus:
Hemorrhoids cause inflammation in the nerves, resulting in mucus. This causes irritation and itching on the sensitive anus skin. The production of mucus causes an unpleasant burning sensation to occur in the area around the anus.
