Foot Pain: Causes and Treatment Options, including Home Remedies

Plantar fasciotomy

The plantar fascia is detached to relieve tension on the bottom of the feet. The patient is sedated during the procedure. This surgery can be done in two different ways. Open surgery or endoscopic surgery is possible. The doctor will make large cuts and remove the plantar fascia from the heel during an open surgery. The plantar fascia can be removed using a camera and knife during the endoscopic procedure. Plantar fasciotomy can have a number of side effects.

  • Heel pain, even after surgery
  • Slow healing process
