Metatarsal surgery
The surgery can be used to treat bunions or to realign the metatarsal bones. The patient lies on his back while anesthesia is administered. The surgeon will make an incision at the metatarsal. The bone will then be repositioned or realigned. Screws are used to secure the realigned bone or repositioned one. Stitches are used to close the incision.
