Difficulty Maintaining An Erection During Sexual Activity
A man may have an erection problem if he is unable to retain or maintain an erection that is strong enough to last throughout a sexual encounter. A person may experience erections in response to sexual stimulations, but these erections do not last long enough for a sexual encounter. Men with erectile dysfunction may loose their erection before they are prepared to engage in sexual activity. Generally, erectile dysfunction does not affect sexual desire, but it can cause disappointment and self-doubt regarding the body. However, erectile dysfunction is prevalent among the majority of males. Almost all adult men experience difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection at some point. However, in some men with erectile dysfunction, the inability to maintain an erection can be a persistent problem. According to doctors, if a man has trouble maintaining an erection more than 25 percent of the time, he should consult a physician as this is a sign of erectile dysfunction.
