Peyronie’s illness
Peyronie’s disease is characterized by the formation of scar tissue in the penis, which causes bowing, curving, and loss of circumference. The painful sensation felt upon contacting the penis indicates the presence of scar tissue. Peyronie’s disease can cause erectile dysfunction because the penis has a tendency to bend downward, upward, or to the side during erections, thereby influencing the firmness of erections.
