Blank Stare
An absence seizure is characterised by a blank gaze. It can occur in any age group, but minors are particularly susceptible. It is a brief episode during which the patient may cease all activity and gaze blankly into the distance. In some instances, the irises may roll upwards and the eyelids may flutter repeatedly. This presentation is frequently confounded with a general lack of focus, daydreaming, or laziness. Due to this, absence seizures are frequently misdiagnosed. Some adolescents may experience multiple tantrums per day. A correct diagnosis and medication can aid in the eradication of these seizures.
