Unknown onset epilepsy
If the origin of a seizure cannot be determined, it is commonly referred to as an unknown onset seizure. In order to properly diagnose the type, additional investigations are planned. In cases where the seizure passes unnoticed, such as during sleep or in patients who are unattended, it is also known as unknown onset seizures.
