Loss of bladder and bowel control
Loss of bladder and bowel control is a second manifestation of uncontrolled muscle action. Alterations in sensory perception and consciousness can also result in such an appearance. After a seizure-related muscle spasm, muscle relaxation may occur. During this phase, the bladder and intestine sphincters may relax, resulting in urinary and faecal incontinence.
