Altered sense of taste

The mouth’s abnormal taste is a link in the same chain of altered sensory perception. Patients may experience a metallic flavour in their mouth. These symptoms are the consequence of the brain’s hyper-perception. It can also be explained as the brain becoming sensitive enough to perceive such stimuli in the absence of their actual source.
