Symptoms Related to the skin
The skin is the organ most frequently involved in all forms of anaphylactic reactions, regardless of the trigger. Additionally, skin reactions are one of the earliest indicators of anaphylaxis.
There may be a generalised reddening of the skin, or erythema, caused by an increase in blood flow mediated by the mediators of anaphylactic reactions.
The same mediators may also contribute to the sensation of itching and rough skin.
Urticaria and urticaria are typical symptoms of allergic reactions. This condition is characterised by the appearance of tiny oval or elongated raised ridges that range in colour from pink to red. The inclination to scratch and itch the skin’s surface is induced by hives.
Eczema is another form of skin condition caused by allergic reactions, which manifests as clusters of smaller red patches.
