Avoiding Foods
Food-induced anaphylaxis is less hazardous and life-threatening than other anaphylaxis triggers. Anaphylaxis-inducing foods include peanuts, fish, cow’s milk, and tree nuts, among others. People with anaphylaxis have difficulty eating readily. Those with anaphylaxis must exercise extreme caution when purchasing food and dining outside. Deaths from food-related anaphylaxis are uncommon among adults; however, infants and adolescents are at a greater risk.
