Insect Venom
Venom from insects is a major cause of anaphylactic reactions. Hymenopterans, which consist of hornets, bumblebees, wasps, and ants, are the most renowned order of insects. The insects can leave their sting, and sometimes the venom sac, on the epidermis. A prompt and effective removal of the puncture, without rupturing the venom sac, can prevent additional venom from entering the body. Bites from insects can cause a variety of anaphylactic symptoms, from swelling to difficulty breathing. Insect strikes can be severe even after the first exposure, making it difficult to identify appropriate risk factors.
