Irritability
The patient’s irritability is a result of their ongoing anxiety. It is a manifestation of the patient’s efforts to maintain emotional control and generate a reasonable response to stressors. Irritability can manifest as moods or actions. The more severe manifestation of irritability is agitation. The patient may experience restlessness, characterized by an incessant desire to accomplish tasks but an inability to accomplish them. Controlling the irritability is an additional obstacle in addition to fretting. However, it is simple to manage anxiety by separating the symptoms from one’s personality and viewing them as manifestations of the anxiety.
