The Buspar
Buspar is a mild tranquilizer prescribed for the treatment of anxiety disorders. Buspar functions by increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain, which regulates and promotes positive mood. Since buspar is a medication with a delayed onset of action, it may take up to six weeks to experience the desired effects. After taking buspar, 48 percent of people report positive adjustments in anxiety. It has significantly less adverse effects than benzodiazepines. However, it is less efficacious than benzodiazepines. Patients who have ingested benzodiazepines in the past are ineffective for Buspar. Among the adverse effects are:
a feeling of dizziness
Vomiting Constipation
dryness of the pharynx
